My social justice issue this semester is child welfare. I work with foster children everyday and I am going to school to become a social worker, so the well-being of children is extremely important to me! I am a wife, a dog mom, and a Registered Behavior Technician.

I chose to write about teenage pregnancy this semester as it has affected me personally. The negative consequences of being a pregnant teenager, turned young mother, were far reaching and I would like to help prevent others from traveling this difficult path by exposing the truth through my writing.

I chose to write about the Trump administration and to delve deeper into a relatively new interest: politics. I wanted to take this semester as an opportunity to educate, stretch, dig, push and make myself uncomfortable, to learn to seek the deeper truths so that I may better teach others how to use writing as a form of resistance.

My social justice issue this semester is women's health care. I am currently working as a medical assistant in a small family practice and I hope to be a nurse one day. As a woman, and a health care professional, this issue is very important to me!
